Numerical-based analytical model of double-layer steel-LHDCC sandwich composites under punching loads

This study conducts numerical analyses on a newly developed double-layer steel-lightweight high ductility cement composite (LHDCC)-steel sandwich panel under concentrated punching load. Energy absorption ability serves as an important criterion in evaluating the performance of protective structures. One critical factor related to energy is stiffness or deformation capacity structure. The present first develops procedure establish FE model SCS panel. Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) adopted simulate behavior LHDCC, with compressive stress–strain relation represented by statistically stochastic damage constitutive model. validated through comparisons test results 2 single-layer panels and 8 panels. A series parametric studies are then performed check influences concrete height, shear span, steel plate thickness, connector spacing, loading patch size, strength load resistance Finally, paper simplified analytical predict stiffnesses at both elastic plastic stages, proposes idealized load–displacement reproduce load-deformation for validate accuracy
